The Kühlspot Social Club e.V. is a non-profit organization that presents around 200 concerts and other cultural events of various kinds every year. Its focus is on improvised & experimental music, free jazz, jazz, contemporary music, performance, art exhibitions and dance. The Kühlspot venue is located in a listed, idyllic historic commercial courtyard in Berlin’s Weißensee district that is used by stonemasons and other artists. The association members are all members of the city’s thriving independent music and art scene.

If you are an artist or a group of artists who would like to book Kühlspot as a location for a future project, please fill out the form.

1. PAYOUT & FINANCIALS
• Standard agreement: 70/30 door split in favor of the artist.
• Payout is only possible upon submission of a completed GEMA form to:

• Travel and accommodation costs cannot be covered by us.
2. BOOKING & LINE-UP
• Please inform us in advance which musician(s) you plan to invite. Any changes in the
line-up must be confirmed by us before being made.
• Please avoid booking other Berlin venues with the same line-up around the same time.
3. SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS
• Set-up time (usually) from 19:00 – Doors: 20:00 – Concert start: 20:30
• Entrance fee: 10–20 Euro on donation/slicing scale
• Each musician receives one free drink and one place on the guest list (half price list)
4. EQUIPMENT & TECHNICAL NEEDS
• Extra equipment (e.g. recording gear) can be rented.

5. INSTRUMENTS & BACKLINE
• You can use the in-house PA
• Two drum sets are available.
• Two grand pianos are on site:
– Schiedmeyer grand piano: inside playing and preparations are allowed
– Calisia grand piano: keyboard use only – preparations and inside playing are strictly forbidden
6. PROMOTION & AUDIENCE
• Kühlspot is a volunteer-run venue and located outside the city center. We depend on
your support to bring an audience.
• Please promote your concert through social media events and personal outreach.
• We will promote your concert on our website, in the echtzeitmusik.de calendar,
visitberlin.de, rausgegangen.de, Field Notes, via our monthly email newsletter and flyers.
7. MEDIA & PROMO MATERIAL
• After you’ve received a gig confirmation, please send us as soon as possible:
– a band photo / collage / graphic
– a short info text or short CVs
– links (website, video, music, etc.) So we can help advertise your concert effectively.
8. FUNDING & RENTAL
• If you receive funding for your project, you are required to rent Kühlspot for a
minimum of 250 Euro per day. Prices are negotiable depending on the amount of your
funding.
9. CONCERT DURATION & CURFEW
• Set lengths are usually between 30–40 minutes.
• There is a curfew at 22:00 – music must stop no later than 22:15.
USAGE OF SPACE & PRICES
1. Pricing Model
• Standard Rate (non-subsidized): €15/hour (fixed rate)
• Commercial/subsidized projects: €25–30/hour. Daily rate (from 6–8 hours):
€250
2. Additional Costs for Equipment and Instruments
• Standard: €50 additional flat rate per day
• Subsidized/commercial use: €100 additional flat rate per day
3. Use of Microphones & PA
• A sound engineer is required when using microphones and/or a PA system.
• You can provide your own technician or book one through us (upon request).
4. Basic Equipment on Site
• The PA is available for use.
• Two drum kits are available.
• Two grand pianos are available on site:
1) Schiedmeyer baby grand piano. Playing inside the piano is permitted.
2) Calisia grand piano (approx. 2m). Playing inside the piano is strictly prohibited.
